Enjoyable day, room for minor improvements

We visited Techniquest last month with a general admission and it was mostly a positive experience. The interactive exhibits were a hit with my nephews, and the Battle of the Bangs show was quite entertaining. I found the value for the family ticket bundle to be decent. My only small gripe was that a couple of the exhibits were out of order, which was a bit disappointing when the kids were excited to try them. Also, finding parking near Cardiff Bay can be a bit of a hassle, though that's not really their fault. Customer service at the front desk was friendly when we arrived, and overall it was a good day out.

Fun day for the kids

We went for the general admission with the kids, and it was pretty cool. Lots of interactive exhibits, kept them busy. The little one loved the planetarium show, especially the Little Bear one. Overall, good time. We'd go back.

Good experience, smooth visit

I booked a family ticket bundle for the Science Discovery Centre entry and a Planetarium show online a few weeks before our visit. The booking process was straightforward on their website. We received the e-tickets promptly via email. On the day, entry was quick; we just showed our phones. The exhibits were well-maintained and engaging for different age groups. We also caught a live science demonstration which was informative and entertaining. The staff were visible and helpful when we had a question about the layout. Everything ran smoothly, and we spent a good few hours there.

Great value, saved with a bundle

I was looking for something affordable to do with the family during the half term. I found their family ticket bundle for general admission and thought it was a pretty good deal compared to buying individual tickets. It definitely felt like I got good value for money. The kids had a blast with all the interactive exhibits. Worth the price we paid!

Absolutely fantastic visit!

What an amazing day we had at Techniquest! The interactive exhibits were so much fun, and the live science demonstrations were just brilliant. My kids were absolutely captivated by the Planetarium show. We stayed for hours and could have easily stayed longer. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We're already planning our next visit, maybe for one of their after-hours events. I'm telling all my friends about it!

Anyone know if they do NHS discounts? My wife works for the health service, would be good if we could save a few quid.

J Jessica H. 1 day ago
I'm pretty sure they do! I remember seeing something about Blue Light Card, which includes NHS. Check their site though to be sure.

Yep, my friend used her Blue Light card there last month for a discount. Always worth asking at the desk too.

Is the planetarium included with the general admission ticket or is that extra? Wanna make sure I budget properly.

M Matt Rivera 1 month ago
From what I remember, it's usually part of the general admission, but sometimes they have special shows that might cost a bit more. Normal ones are included.

Yeah, standard planetarium shows are included with your entry ticket. Just need to check the schedule when you get there.

Hey, thinking of taking my little one, she's like 2. Is it even worth it for toddlers or mostly for older kids?

M Matt Rodriguez 1 month ago
Yeah, they have some stuff for the really little ones! I saw a special planetarium show for toddlers advertised, the 'Little Bear' one I think? Plus lots of sensory stuff.

My nephew loved it when he was 3, lots of buttons to push and things to look at. Just be prepared to chase them a lot lol.

I saw something about a family ticket. Is it much cheaper than buying individual tickets for like two adults and two kids?

E Eric Rivera 3 weeks ago
Yeah, the family bundle usually works out cheaper. Not a massive discount, but enough to grab a coffee while you're there.

It's usually around a 10-15% saving compared to buying separately, so definitely worth getting if you fit the family criteria.

Considering an annual pass cause we'd probably go a few times a year. Is it actually worth it, like do you really save money?

L Linda Wright 4 weeks ago
If you go more than twice, it usually pays for itself. Plus you get other perks sometimes, like shop discounts or early access to events.

Totally worth it if you plan to visit a few times! We did it and saved a good chunk. Plus, you can pop in for an hour or two without feeling like you 'have' to stay all day to get your money's worth.
